On December 2, dozens of Tara’s supporters, family, friends, and neighbors gathered at her home to help launch her campaign for Ramsey County Commissioner. Nicole Joy Frethem, the current District 1 Ramsey County Commissioner, co-hosted the event and formally endorsed Tara for the open seat, stating, “Tara is a connector. She knows what needs to be done, how to work with all community members to understand all concerns, and how to navigate complex systems to get it done. I am happy to endorse Tara to replace me as Ramsey County Commissioner for District 1.”
All the informal discussions and supportive speeches reinforced what those there already know: Tara’s lived experience and work as a partner, parent, caregiver, community volunteer, advocate, and leader prove she is Ready, Willing, and Able to do the work of a Ramsey County Commissioner. Tara is the best person for this job!
Here are additional remarks from some of her supporters:
Tara and I met when she was a volunteer on my campaign. She was one of the few volunteers who could routinely out-door-knock me. Over the years, we bonded over discussions about what to do about our sons. We joined the Ramsey County NAMI board, working with others to make it an even more effective and respected advocate for mental health issues and support. Tara is a reliable, effective steward of this work. Good leadership includes handing off the work to a really wonderful person. Tara is a really wonderful person.
Mindy Greiling, retired Minnesota State Representative
Tara is always there, listening and doing the work at community events. I could not think of a better candidate for Ramsey County Commissioner than Tara.
Eric Goebel, Vadnais Heights City Council member

Victoria Reinhardt, Ramsey County Commissioner (retiring after 28 years)
Yay!!! Tara is running for Ramsey County Commissioner! I had heard from many about her incredible work and her beneficial and relevant experience. After I met her and reviewed her resume, learning of her breadth of experience, I knew why everyone was so excited. Knock on doors, give money, and get her elected!
Kelly Moeller, Minnesota State Representative
I know Tara and I have shared values on community issues and engagement. She is committed, walks the walk, and talks the talk. She shows up. Best of all, she knows how to win. Go All In on Tara.
Heather Gustafson, Minnesota State Senator
I am thrilled she’s running. I learned what Tara was about when she worked for the White Bear Lake School District. She does the work and wants to do the work. Get out and Vote for this lady.
Jo Emerson, former Mayor of White Bear Lake
Tara shared her values, experience, and vision. She thanked her husband RJ, son Rohan, family, friends, and supporters and concluded the event, stating, “I am honored. I am ready. I have worked shoulder-to-shoulder with many of you for decades on the big issues impacting our community. Now is the time to help me continue that Big Work as your next Ramsey County Commissioner.”
Please help Tara Jebens-Singh get elected any way you can by donating, volunteering, and spreading the word about this outstanding candidate! And don’t forget to Vote!
